Hi, I’m Sam. I grew up in Victoria, BC, and moved to Montréal in 2018 to study Cognitive Science and Computer Science at McGill University. Right now, I work as a freelance programmer on various web development, embedded software, and experimental design projects.

The 21st century is rife with examples of how software has simultaniously increased information transmission and convenience, while diminishing certain social and psychological aspects of our lives that make us uniquely human.

I’m on a mission to understand how software and hardware affect our culture, community, and personal well-being so that we can enjoy the benefits of communication without amplifying the social, economic, and environmental pitfalls we see today.

This site is a place for me to post little updates and showcase what I’m currently working on. I hope you enjoy taking a look around!
